On the 11th & 12th Days...

On the 11th day of Christmas Caroline gave to you an altered journal gift.

She covered the journal and cut the large flower out of papers from the Moonrise collection. Then she attached the stickers and alphabet.

On the 12th day of Christmas SEI gave to you a note set. This gift is so quick and easy! All we did was wrap pencils with some of our favorite Moonrise papers. Then combine it with a coordinating sticky note pad and voila!

We hope you enjoyed our 12 Days of Christmas and it has sparked some creative gift ideas!

On the 9th & 10th Days...

On the 9th day of Christmas, Kate gave to us a cute and candied card to share!

Don't forget to line your envelopes with cheer as well! It's all about the details.

On the 10th day of Christmas SEI gave to you a wrapped hot coco canister with candy canes too!

Sure to warm neighbor's hearts and tummies with a simple gift! If you're going to use a glitter paper like we did, be generous with your adhesive.

On the 5th & 6th Days...

Today we have some fun gift ideas to help get ready for Santa. Both of them were made by altering an inexpensive item.

On the 5th day of Christmas Lori Mancini gave to you a countdown chalkboard. What a great way to help little ones keep track of the days!

Lori said, "I picked up a small wooden chalk board available at most dollar or craft stores and altered it with the Kris Kringle line! This was so fun and simple to make and the options on this are endless..."

"Instead of counting the days until Santa Arrives you could easily alter this into a gift list or how about a indicator if your kids have been naughty or nice today? However you decide to decorate yours it is a fun and quick gift that will put anyone in a festive mood quite easily!"

On the 6th day of Christmas SEI gave to you a door hanger gift idea. Inspired by Lori's countdown, we decided to welcome Santa's arrival with an altered door hanger.

We started by painting a wooden door hanger black. Then we Mod-Podged the Santa die-cut accent and alphabet letters from the Kris Kringle collection on top. While the Mod Podge was still damp, we sprinkled glitter all over it.

We thought this would make a fun gift for a family without a chimney. Santa can't miss the front door with all that glitter reflecting off Rudolph's nose!

On the 3rd & 4th Days...

On the 3rd day of Christmas Audrey Yeager gave to you a fun monster journal gift idea. She made these for her nieces, who are 8 and 5.

Audrey explains,"I was actually inspired by the Make Your Own Monster iron ons and tried to incorporate this idea into journals. You'll notice that the one cover doesn't have a face. That's because all the face parts are on a transparency in the back of the journal, and there is another transparency over the cover."

"The girls can make whatever faces they want on their cover, and switch out pieces by putting them in the back when they are done! I also used the Monsterville Blurbs where the girls can make up a name for their monsters and put it on the cover."

"I put two 'secret' pockets on the inside. One of them is an envelope, and when you open the flap, another monster greats you inside! The second is a pocket where they can stash cool things!"

On the 4th day of Christmas SEI gave to you a game gift idea. Have you ever thought of using your scrapbook paper for games?

We created 3 games out of this one sheet of paper. Just cut the paper into squares (ours our 4 x 4) to make a puzzle. Then, download and print off the instruction sheet. Once the puzzle is put together, there are two more games that can be played with the completed puzzle. These would also be great paired with some My Own Monster iron-ons.

If you are going to be driving this holiday, you can also use these as travel games. Just skip the puzzle game and do the other two games so you aren't chasing puzzle pieces around your car.

On the 1st & 2nd Days...

It's time to continue our 12 days of Christmas tradition! So come back every day for the next 5 days to get 12 great gift ideas from the Art Studio and the design team. Go here for previous years.

On the first day of Christmas Lisa Johnson gave to you a beautiful ornament gift idea. Aren't these just perfect? Lisa makes ornaments for her girls every year. She made these using the Kris Kringle papers and felt.

You could also place these on a gift to make the wrapping part of the gift. How about placing it on a box like this one?

On the second day of Christmas SEI gave to you a gift box full of goodies. We have always loved this box designed by one of our previous guest bloggers, Jamie Cripps. So we thought it would be fun to make one for a Christmas gift.

It is really fun and simple to make! Go here for the complete instructions. If you aren't up to making cookies from scratch, how about making some chocolate dipped oreos?

On the 10th day...

On the 10th Day of Christmas SEI gave to you 10 ways to decorate a glass ornament! There are hundreds of beautiful ways to make these and we hope these ideas inspire you to come up with even more! Tie one to the top of a big gift or leave a few sweet notes in them and hide it on the tree.

Snow Flurries and Snow Storms

1. Using a hole punch, punch about a hundred of Crystal Arabesque out. Add some of the tiniest die-cuts from Wintersong. Funnel in some snow and go frolic.

2. Simply funnel in tons of snow! Add a tiny reindeer die-cut for some winter hide and seek.

All Wrapped Up

3. Using some skinny white ribbon, wrap around four times, tightly. Use a decorative felt to adhere ribbon to ball. Instant Class.

4. Tinsel or tinsel ribbon makes a shining statement in clear glass. Fill as full as you can go. Adhere some rhinestones to the ribbon before putting in for extra bling!

Reindeers and Flowers

5. Small brown pom poms, green glitter and tiny jingle bells remind us of Rudolph. Add a single red pom pom in there for even more fun!

6. Find a flower pick and pull off the heads. (The smaller, the better) I like that these had glitter, too. Tuck as many heads as will fit inside and carefully use tweezers to arrange them to face out.

Silent Night

7. Cut super skinny strips of Crystal Arabesque or My Wooly Scarf and roll them into oblong shapes. poke in and arrange with tweezers.

8. Using white acrylic paint, coat the inside of your ornament. Patiently and carefully rub on "let it snow" to one side. Hang a few in your window!

Covered and Cozy

9. Take Matt's leafy template and reduce to 25%. Cut the leaves out of wintermint cardstock, and start from the bottom. Start with about fourty leaves and cut more as you go; it's easier. Adhere with a double sided adhesive. Use mocamint as a variation and make pine cones!

10. Grab three tubes of Chick-a-Doo buttons and sort out all those greens. (Then get red buttons and do another version!) Mini glue dots adhere them to the glass perfectly. Don't worry too much about arrangement-have fun! Give to your favorite crafter with a sewing book.

Have a ball! :)

On the 9th Day...

On the 9th Day of Christmas SEI gave to you 9 paper stockings. Michelle created these pretty little stockings using the Christmas Mint paper collection. First she cut her paper using this stocking template & folded on the lines:

After cutting & folding the template, Michelle sewed around the edges. Then she added a pretty Christmas Mint ribbon, die-cut accent, and designer brad. Last, she stuffed them full of goodies!

These stockings are a great way to package a gift for friends, neighbors or teachers. You can also do what we did and hang them on a Christmas tree for a decoration.

On the 8th Day...

On the 8th Day of Christmas SEI gave to you 8 place-settings (only four pictured). Matt made these festive place-mats using Christmas Mint papers. First he made this template and cut sixteen leaves for each place setting. Then he folded them in half and strung them together using Kitty's Place Brads. Here is the leaf template he made for you:

You could even use this to compliment your centerpiece or make a layered one for your door. What plans and ideas do you have for your holiday centerpieces?

On the 7th Day...

On the 7th Day of Christmas SEI gave to you 7 hanging decoration ideas! Here is how I got my inspiration:

photo 1: a modern event, photo 2: Martha Stewart, photo 3: rivers are damp, photo 4: Design Sponge

I am so lucky to work with such creative people with great inspiration. I was having a hard time choosing what project idea to give to you on the 7th Day. So, Mandi suggested I research my English heritage. According to this website, England was the first country to use mistletoe during the Christmas season. Mistletoe reminds me of kissing balls so I created this kissing ball by hot-gluing flower-shaped WinterSong papers onto a styrofoam ball and adding a Park Buddies button onto each flower center. I made my flowers by cutting the paper into 2" squares then folding them and cutting as shown in this diagram:

Then, Pia suggested I check out this Martha Stewart idea. Martha has several ideas on how to make hanging decorations out of ribbon. I used Christmas Mint & WinterSong ribbons to make and hang our decorations. I also used some WinterSong designer brads for the center.

As I was searching for more inspiration I found these neat paper ornaments on Design Sponge. Instead of stapling them I used WinterSong designer brads to hold each paper strip in place.

Last, but not least I realized that some of our embellishments can stand alone at decorations. So, the two fastest hanging decorations I made by putting two embellishments back to back. I used WinterSong elements & chiplets.
